Partnership for Access Awareness - Scholarships for students with Disabilities
Two scholarships in the amount of $1,000, six in the amount of $1,500 and two in the amount of $2,500 are available. Deadline is April 15th and applications are available in Student Services.

The Garfield Weston Merit Scholarship
There are numerous awards available at the National, Regional and Provincial level. Applicants must be completing high school this year and entering first year of full time studies in the fall of 2010, as well as having a minimum average of 75%. Applications can be picked up in Student Services. Deadline is March 23, 2010.

The Nova Scotia Health Research Foundation (NSHRF) Decade Award
This entrance award (one time only) is valued at $10,000 and offered by Nova Scotia Health Research Foundation (NSHRF) to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the Foundation. This award is being offered to a grade 12 student (who will be attending a Nova Scotia university or community college) in each of the nine school boards of NS. One award will be given to each school board. Visit www.nshrf.ca for more information.

The Epilepsy Assoc of NS
** EANS Memorial Scholarship of $500.
**James Russell Kline & Jesse Payne Bursary of $500
Applicants must currently be under the care of a physician for the treatment of Epilepsy, at least 18 by Dec 31, 2010, be accepted for study at a recognized post secondary school. 
Deadline is May 15th. Applications are available in Student Services or through www.epilepsy.com

Daughters of Penelope Educational Awards for Females of Hellenic Descent. One award for $1,000 and one for $500 will be granted to female students of Hellenic descent who are graduating and plan to pursue post-secondary studies. Deadline is May 31, 2010. Information sheets are available in Student Services.

ICANNS: Institute of Chartered Accountants of NS
Offering four $1,000 scholarship awards to NS high school students graduating in June 2010 and attending university this September to pursue a Bachelors Degree in Business or Commerce. Applications are available in Student Services. Deadline is April 23, 2010.

NSCC Entrance Awards
These awards are equivalent to first-year tuition for a regular Certificate or Diploma. 
Applications are available in Student Services and/or by visiting www.nscc.ca. Deadline is May 14, 2010.

Memorial University's Fourth Annual Rant Like Rick Contest.
Taken from The Rick Mercer Report show, the contest asks students to develop and film their own rant about a topic that is important to them. Grand prize is valued at $10,000 and two runner-up prizes of a $2,550 tuition voucher will be awarded. See info sheet in Student Services. Deadline is March 19, 2010.

NS Agricultural College
The NSAC offers numerous scholarships for students applying to their institution including: 
The NSAC Atlantic Scholars Awards  up to $38,000
The Dykeview Farms Scholarship - $1,000
The RBC Financial Group Entrance Scholarship - $1,000
The NSAC Sport Leadership Award - $1,000

AES Engineers is offering a $500 scholarship award to students attending post secondary instutions. (students do not need to be taking engineering to apply) Students must submit an essay based on the topics at their website.  Visit www.aesengineers.com/scholarship.php in order to apply.

Dartmouth General Hospital Auxiliary
Memorial Bursary
Valued at $1,500 this will be awarded to a graduating student entering a health profession or program leading to a health program. For full guidelines and an application form, please visit Student Services. Deadline is May 15, 2010.

Black Educators Association Bursary Fund
Applicants must have at least one parent of African descent, a resident of NS, demonstrate financial need, continuing studies at a Post-Secondary institution and/or studying toward first degree or diploma at Cdn post-secondary institution. Applications are available in student services. Deadline is August 28, 2010.

Cdn Federation of independent Grocers Scholarship
Valued at $6,000, applicants must be Cdn residents, enrolling in a post-secondary program of at least 2 years, etc. Full applications and criteria are available at www.cfig.ca.  Deadline is May 31, 2010.

Pengrowth-Nova Scotia Energy Scholarship Prog
As many as twelve $10,000 scholarships wil be awarded to NS students pursuing studies in business, sciences, environmental or engineering at the Univ Level. Also, ten NSCC scholarships will be awarded. Applications are available in Student Services. Deadline for Univ applications is April 30th and for NSCC applications it's May 7th.

Farrell Benevolent Society
Offering 4 bursaries of $500 each to students who reside in the HRM District Nine Boundaries (Thistle Street north to Burnside inclusive)  Applications are available in Student Services. Deadline is May 28, 2010.

The Canadian College of Performing Arts
will be holding AUDITIONS in Halifax on March 2nd. CCPA offers training for actors, singers and dancers. More info is available in Student Services.
Assumption Foundation Scholarships
Valued at $500 these scholarships are for students with an overall avg of 70% for Grade 12, be enrolled in a college or university program for Sept 2010, and be in financial need.
Applications are available in Student Services and deadline is April 30th.

The Royal Canadian Legion - Leadership Training Camp
This one week summer camp is being held in Truro from June 26th to July 5th. Applicants must be under the age of 18, have completed grade 10 or 11 and must be planning to return to school the following year.  Full information and applications are available in Student Services.

Credit Counselling Services Scholarship
Valued at $1,000. Students must submit a 500 word essay based on info in the application. Applications can be picked up in Student Services. Deadline is March 26th

Nova Scotia Power Employment Equity Scholarship
Valued at $1500 each year, this scholarship is for students who are disabled, a visible minority or are Aboriginal persons. Applications are available in Student Services. Deadline is March 31.

Canadian Navy Centennial National Essay Contest
A winner from each province will be chosen to receive a $2,000 Scholarship, as well as an overall winner who will receive an additional $3,000. 
Entries can be in the form of essay, poem or artwork based on one of the topics indicated on the application form. Applications are available in Student Services.

Dr. P.A. Johnstone Scholarship
Valued at $6,000, this non-renewable scholarship applies to first year of study only. To be eligible, students must be entering a Bachelor's degree program in the fall and who has demonstrated an interest in multiculturalism and human rights, and who is entering a university in NS, NB or PEI. Deadline is March 31st. Applications available in Student Services.

The BigSun Organization is proud to be able to continue to help young athletes succeed in their academic pursuits. They are offering an annual scholarship to a deserving student. All student athletes are eligible for this award, regardless of which sport they are participating in.

Abbot and Fenner Scholarship Program
Value of $1,000

Students whose parents work for the NSGEU may qualify for various scholarships now available in Student Services. These scholarships are valued at $1500 with a deadline of June 30th and include:

The FORUM experience brings students to Ottawa for a one-week intensive academic adventure that immerses them in the exciting world of national politics and public affairs. 
FORUM is a bilingual, nonpartisan and AMAZING program to develop leadership and to learn about parliamentary democracy, how government works and how STUDENTS can make a difference in shaping Canada's future.
Up to 125 students (aged 15-19) from across Canada, attend each session held in Ottawa on Parliament Hill. 
Students participate in one of four sessions, in February, March or April. Each session is 5-days long. Application forms are now available online for the Spring 2010 sessions at www.forum.ca. Space is limited. NOW is the Time to Apply!

Engineers without Borders Scholarship Contest
