North Woodside Community Assoc Seeking Volunteers

The North Woodside Community Centre provides a Youth Drop-In each Friday night from 6:30pm to 8:30pm from September to May. Their goal is to provide a safe and fun environment for children aged 8-12 years to socialize. This program is a free drop-in.

They require volunteers to help facilitate this program. This volunteer opportunity will help students to gain valuable experience in volunteering and working with children. It will also help to provide students with volunteer hours to go toward getting their Platinum and Gold “D” designation. NWCC volunteers pursuing post-secondary education are eligible for the North Woodside Community Center Bursary of $500 which they give out each June.

They seek high school students as volunteers because they can relate to the children who attend and are also mature enough to supervise these children and act as role models.

Interested in volunteering? Contact the NWCC at 902-463-9276 or visit their website here: http://www.northwoodsidecc.com/
